Our Story

With a combined 18 years of experience, we're committed to providing you with the best experience possible. Our mission is to reduce the use of harmful pest control methods such as poisons, spikes, and disruptive noises, and replace them with the use of a natural predator-prey dynamic.

At the same time, we aim to provide memorable educational experiences to both build passion in the general public and increase raptor awareness and understanding. We believe that people want to protect what they're passionate about, and what better way is there to build enthusiasm than a hands-on experience?

"Today is Spencer’s day off, however, so he’s a bit more chill than usual. His belly is full of raw quail meat and he’s feeling too heavy to work. But he’s agreed, nonetheless, to leave the comfort of his Palmdale aviary where he lives with his brother, Shady, to meet The Times for an interview on the plaza of the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

Spencer is a trained Harris’ hawk, and his job is to fly above the museum..."

Lindsey's Story

My name is Lindsey Benger and I've been a licensed falconer since 2010.

I first got involved with falconry when I was 16 years old. I took the sport (and my birds) with me to college at Cal Poly SLO, where I received a degree in Animal Science. In addition to practicing falconry, I also took several animal training internships at a local rescue zoo, where I was lucky enough to work with a variety of animals, from monkeys and porcupines up to big cats, wolves, and bears! However, my true passion always remained with falconry. After graduating, I moved down to Southern California where I began working in the field of bird abatement and raptor education.

I love sharing my passion for animals with other people. Few things bring me more joy than sharing in the excitement people feel when they get to interact with a unique species for the first time. It reminds me why I love what I do so much! When not working, I enjoy flying my goshawk, running dogs, reading, and practicing drawing and painting. The only thing that comes close to my love of animals is my love of art.

James' Story

My name is James Nassour and I've been a licensed falconer since 2017.

I first became interested in falconry after meeting Lindsey, and soon after acquired my own falconry license. Since then, I have worked with several red-tailed hawks, Harris hawks, and peregrine falcons, though my specialty is Nicodemus the Eurasian eagle owl, who I raised from a baby. Since Nicodemus is imprinted on me (meaning he sees me as his parent) I am his main handler and accompany him on most programs that he works. We love putting on a show together and teaching others about owls!
